As we inch closer to the end of summer, we thought it would be a good time to share some of the exciting things we’ve got going on during the second half of 2023. In this blog post, we’ll cover two recent updates for EnerSys as well as two things we’re looking forward to in the fall of 2023.
Industry Expert Byron Coy Joins EnerSys Regulatory Advisory Team
At the beginning of July, EnerSys announced the appointment of retired PHMSA senior technical advisor Byron Coy to our regulatory advisory team.
We believe that Mr. Coy’s experience and subject matter expertise strengthen the company’s capabilities to deliver safety and operations improvements to the pipeline industry through our Pipeline Operations Excellence Management System (POEMS®) software.
Mr. Coy will leverage his deep understanding of regulations and best practices as part of our Regulatory Advisory Team as we work to help pipeline operators improve their regulatory compliance, safety performance, and processes.
Latest POEMS® Update
We recently rolled out the latest version of our POEMS® Control Room Management software suite (CRM Suite) – and many of our users are already enjoying the changes that the update brings. In the latest build, we have included valuable enhancements, new features and functionality, and additional capabilities.
Included in the update:
- Enhanced filtering, including the ability to multi-select specific values when filtering, allowing you to show alarms only or certain areas.
- Control Room Specific Views – For operators supporting multiple control rooms, work has been done to further delineate one from the other. Certain pages will default filter to show only the user’s assigned control room.
- Advanced Scheduling – Allow for gaps in schedules due to consolidated consoles
- Easier Schedule Changes – Allow multi-select and edit to change controllers or delete multiple existing shifts at one time.
- Improved Alarm Activation KPI Performance – Speed to load is greatly improved.
- Additional minor bug fixes and enhancements

User Group Meeting
EnerSys will be part of the upcoming EnerACT user group meeting happening this Fall. As a software company, we think it’s important to bring our users together to explore the roadmap for our product catalog and solicit feedback.
