The 2025 POEMS® User Group Meeting brought pipeline professionals together for two days of meaningful conversation, collaborative learning, and direct influence on the future of POEMS software. Held November 4–5 at The Tremont House in Galveston, Texas, the event again demonstrated why this gathering is so impactful: users don’t just attend—they shape what comes next. This year’s meeting put a clear spotlight on the value of user input. Through dedicated polling sessions, open discussions, and roadmap workshops, attendees played an active role in guiding feature priorities across CRM Suite, Program Suite, and other tools in the POEMS catalog.
User voices are not symbolic in POEMS—they are part of our development process. And this year, that process was on full display.
A Meaningful Two-Day Experience
The event combined structured sessions with rich networking opportunities, including:
- A group dinner on Tuesday evening
- Casual happy hours on both nights
- Conversations with developers and account managers
- Plenty of time for peer-to-peer discussions among operators and program managers
The result was an environment where attendees could connect, share experiences, ask questions, and gain deeper insight into how POEMS continues to evolve.
Customer Spotlight: Implementing POEMS Across Multiple Control Rooms
One of the highlights of this year’s User Group Meeting was a presentation from Josh Hunkele, a long-time customer who shared his team’s journey implementing POEMS® across multiple control rooms. Josh provided attendees with a practical, real-world perspective on how deploying POEMS at scale can streamline operations, strengthen compliance alignment, and bring greater consistency to control room processes. His insights underscored the value of having a unified operational framework, demonstrating how POEMS supports controllers, supervisors, and leadership in achieving more reliable, repeatable, and auditable performance. Josh’s presentation was a powerful reminder of the impact our users have in shaping the evolution of the software—and how their experiences help drive best practices across the entire community.
Unprecedented User Input: Feature Surveys and Prioritization
One of the core focuses of this year’s meeting was feature prioritization. Attendees participated in three major survey rounds:
✔ 32 features surveyed for CRM Suite
✔ 22 features surveyed for Program Suite
✔ Future Software Program: user-driven concept & feature survey
This level of user engagement reflects the essence of the POEMS User Group:
software built around real operator needs, validated directly by the people who use it every day.
The surveys were part of structured discussions where users were able to expand on why a feature mattered, how it affects day-to-day operations, and where the largest gaps or inefficiencies exist. The EnerSys development team captured not only the ratings, but also the context behind them—context that will guide the 2026 product roadmap. This collaborative, transparent approach is a cornerstone of POEMS development—and a key reason many operators choose to attend each year.

Spotlight: New Software
This year also marked an important milestone with the first public discussion and feature survey for a new application. Attendees contributed early-stage input that will directly shape the structure, workflows, and integrations of the system.
Many users shared that this concept fills a long-standing gap—centralized program oversight and task coordination that aligns with regulatory frameworks and internal processes. Their early feedback is already influencing the development path.
In addition to product upgrades and feature polling, attendees also received an exciting preview of an AI-powered training platform designed to gamify emergency response and elevate team decision-making.

Attendees also appreciated the chance to meet with our account management and customer success teams to better understand the support process and gain clarity on communication expectations and project timelines.
